Maple syrup is a natural product made according to the highest quality standards. At all stages of maple syrup production, both traditional and organic, maple syrup farmers meet standards for maintenance and sugar bush management, for collection and storage of maple water, for processing maple water and cleaning equipment, for storage of the finished product and for processing maple-derived products. Recognized world-wide, Quebec maple syrup is a product whose purity, wholesomeness and authenticity are subject to recognized quality control. Inspection of maple syrup in large containers has been entrusted by the Fédération des producteurs acéricoles du Québec to Cintech Agroalimentaire under the Entente relative à la gestion de l’inspection des produits de l’érable en grands contenants. This quality control (classification) is regulated by the Act respecting the Marketing of agricultural, food and fish products.
